India’s central government provides eligible farmers with an amount of Rs 6,000 per year under its Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, known as the PM Kisan Yojana. Since this money is credited to the bank accounts of registered farmers in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each, the government releases it thrice a year.
Since the start of this direct benefit transfer scheme in 2019, the government has released 12 instalments under the PM Kisan Yojana to date.

Under the PM Kisan scheme, the Centre pays Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments. Hence, there is a gap of 3-4 months between each PM Kisan instalment. Typically, the first instalment is released between April and July in that year. The second instalment is distributed between August and November. The third installment is released between December and March.
