In the backdrop of the release of a report by US-based short-seller Hindenburg Research levelling allegations against his group companies, Adani wealth has depreciated significantly at the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Data available on February 3, 2023, show his net worth is currently at $61.3 billion, making Adani the world’s 21st richest person at the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Mukesh Ambani, with his $80.3 billion wealth is now placed at the 12th position.
On January 24, 2023, US short-seller Hindenburg Research said it held short positions in the Adani Group, accusing the conglomerate of improper use of offshore tax havens and flagging concerns about high debt, leading to a massive sell-off of India-listed shares of group companies.
